Being at the center of the Horn of Africa, and almost all the people along its border having their cousins across the border, Ethiopia is in a unique position to initiate this grand project of national and regional integration. While the countries in the region have their own internal problems, which need to be addressed squarely, it is our belief that they can even do well if they broaden their vision and bring the efforts of their peoples together in a host of social, economic, political and cultural activities.
CeNRIS’ task is, therefore, by focusing on regional integration units, investigates the challenge and opportunities that the existing regional actors and the socio-economic and political environment provide for the citizen of the Horn. It is this belief that prompted the establishment of Center for National and Regional Integration Studies (CeNRIS).
